Involvement in projects/ programs.

• Citizen-based boards that govern recreation programs. Youth and Adult Softball Boards, Soccer Board, Movie Selection Committee and most importantly, PRAB is a group of citizens who advise Parks and Recreation.

Promotion of community programs through contests, tours and media

• Parks and Recreation has excellent relationship with KFSM Channel 5, Clear Channel Radio (Magic 107.9, Hot Mix 101.9, Eagle 93.3 and KIX 104), Northwest Arkansas Times and Arkansas Democrat Gazette. Each of these media outlets sponsor and advertise Fayetteville Parks and Recreation programs and special events.

Fund Raising and other initiatives.

• Citizen group raise money for Skate Park, St. Joseph’s Park, Braden Park and others.
• Rotary Club raise money through a softball tournament that provides funding for facility improvements.
